Yesterday opened a new
Mosque in Alta. It's
Ismail Omar from Kurdistan who has organized the premises for the city's
Muslims. The new premises are almost twice as large as the previous
mosque premises, known as the Bay-kiosk.
It was Ismail who in 2009 took the initiative to open the
mosque in the Bay-kiosk. - I
bought the kiosk last year and had originally planned to create a place
to eat here, but then I found out that there are so many Muslims in Alta
that it rather would be an idea to create a place of prayer for this
group, said Ismail, who has been in Alta since 1999
and runs his own company, ISI cleaning.
Now the
little mosque in the Bay-kiosk has become too small for the city's
growing group of Muslims, who hereby has a new and great local mosque
for prayer and socializing. Ismail says that Altas Islamic Association is being established, and
it will be in charge of the mosque. Alnor
Senter congratulate Ismail and the Muslims in Alta with the new mosque
premises.
